New Traditional BSN Admission Criteria Effective Spring 2017

Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing

LSU Health Sciences Center is located in New Orleans, LA. The faculty of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center offers a three-year program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The program admits students in the fall and spring each year. Class size is limited and admission is very competitive. This program of study is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Our Traditional BSN degree program will prepare students for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam and a professional nursing career.

An applicant may attend any accredited college or university to fulfill the required pre-nursing courses. During the time the applicant is enrolled in the pre-nursing courses, a separate application for admission must be submitted to the Office of Student Services/Affairs.

Beginning Fall 2018 semester, Abnormal Psych and Statistics 300/3000 level or above may be transferred if a grade of “C” or better is achieved.
