The faculty of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center offers a four-year program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. This program of study is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Upon graduation, a student is eligible to write NCLEX-RN the examination for licensure for a registered nurse (R.N.).

A student may attend any accredited college or university to fulfill the required pre-nursing courses. During the time the student is enrolled in the pre-nursing courses, a separate application for admission must be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs.
