Frequently Asked Questions

Is the RNBSN program 100% online?
The RNBSN program at LSUHSC is a hybrid program. Classes meet once per month on Saturday. Most of the coursework is online and you can expect to have weekly assignments to complete while taking courses. During your Saturday classes you can expect to attend faculty lectures, guest speaker presentations, assessment labs, simulation, participate in group activities with your peers and/or proctored exams.

How long is the program?
Students can complete the program in three semesters (For example, students who begin the program in August, can graduate the following August; students who begin the program in January can graduate in December of the same year). Students may take courses at a slow pace if they choose.

How do I go about applying for the program?
First, contact the program director for an interview (see director contact information below). You will be asked to obtain copies of your official or unofficial transcripts from all colleges you have attended. The goals of the interview are to determine if you need any prerequisite courses prior to beginning the RNBSN program, determine the best semester to begin the program and review information about the program.

Do students work while attending the RNBSN program?
Yes, nearly all students work full time while attending the RNBSN program at LSUHSC.
