Janis Lydick is an Instructor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Delgado Community College - Charity School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She received her Master of Science in Nursing and post-graduate certification as a nurse educator from the University of South Alabama. She is board certified by the National Certification Corporation as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

Mrs. Lydick serves as course faculty for Women’s Health and as an advisor for students.

Mrs. Lydick has clinical experience in the Emergency Department, including Pediatric Emergency Department, and Labor and Delivery nursing as a staff nurse. She is certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) and in perinatal bereavement (CPLC). She and is also a Resolve Through Sharing instructor.

Mrs. Lydick is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Mrs. Lydick has received the Ochsner Spirit of Caring Award. She has been honored as one of the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana.
