Critical care nursing, staff retention, and nursing leadership.


Nedra Keenan is an Instructor at Louisiana State University New Orleans School of Nursing.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from James Madison University.  She received her Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Education from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.  She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Executive Nurse Leader program at Louisiana State University New Orleans School of Nursing.  

Mrs. Keenan serves as undergraduate faculty for the School of Nursing’s Health Assessment Theory and in the Critical Care Nursing cohort.

Mrs. Keenan has extensive experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers as a charge and staff nurse in the emergency room and critical care including MICU, SICU, CVICU, and PICU.  She worked as adjunct faculty at George Mason University, Chamberlain College of Nursing, and Marymount University in Virginia after earning her MSN. 

Mrs. Keenan is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Louisiana State Nurses Association, National League of Nursing, and American Nurses Association.  She is currently serving on committees for the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.  Mrs.  Keenan is an advisor for undergraduate students.
