Modules 1-9 are in-class presentations.  Registration is from 8:30-9:00 am.  The program starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:30 p.m.  Due to the confidentiality of topics discussed, no taping is allowed during classes.  A continental breakfast and refreshment breaks are provided.  Two books are required.  The following book will be given to all paid participants at the first class:

Legal, Ethical, and Political Issues in Nursing (2nd ed.) (2004)
by Tonia Dandry Aiken
F.A. Davis Company: Philadelphia

The final module, Module 10, provides an opportunity to apply the content covered in the course.  In New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas, you will be assigned to work with an attorney or in another LNC practice setting so that you can gain experience as a LNC.  This is a great opportunity to gain confidence in your skills as a LNC, and it also provides an opportunity to network for future employment opportunities.
