Title: When Seconds Count: Pediatric Emergencies and Their Management

Activity Description/Objective: This learning activity will focus on the management of select pediatric emergencies requiring rapid and comprehensive evaluation and management. Nurses working in emergency, critical care, or pediatric settings will benefit from learning quick tips and tools to manage critically ill children. Topics will include respiratory emergencies, such as asthma and viral illnesses; hypovolemic, hemorrhagic, and septic shock; and diabetic emergencies. Case studies will guide the discussion in the application and evaluation of appropriate care.

Target Audience: Registered Nurses who care for pediatric patients

Participants will earn 3.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education.
