How do I use Blackboard to sign
up for academic advising appointments?
While this isn't
a universal practice, several
faculty members are using the
calendar feature in Blackboard to schedule
advising appointments. If you
are an advisee of a faculty member
who is using this feature, you
will have an “Advising” course
listed on your “myBlackboard” page
(right after you log in). Your
advisor will communicate to you
the times they are available via
the calendar itself or through
the regular channels. Once you
are ready to schedule an appointment:
- Click on "Sign-Up Calendar"
- Click on "Add Entry"
- Select Date and Time. Put
your name in the "Summary"
box.
- Click "Add" to
submit.
