Research Priority Areas

The School of Nursing research framework of NURSING PHENOMENA is rooted in epistemology. The nursing discipline considers phenomena that require understanding and knowledge in order to improve the nature of nursing practice from a nursing paradigm. Nursing phenomena are viewed to exist in general in the realms of clients, client-nurse encounters, and the nursing environment. These phenomena guide the nursing research mission and serve to improve education, practice, and research.
