Clinic Administrator

Dr. Deborah Garbee, PhD, APRN, ACNS-BC

Dr. Garbee is an Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. She received an Associate of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University, a Master in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of New Orleans.

Dr. Garbee is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and is board certified as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Currently, she serves as the Acting Associate Dean for Professional Practice, Community Service, and Advanced Nursing Practice at LSUHSC. She is the clinic administrator for the nurse managed clinics which are funded by a HRSA grant titled “Restoring Primary Care for Underserved Elders in Post-Katrina New Orleans East.” She is a certified reviewer for Joanna Briggs Institute. Dr. Garbee serves as a peer reviewer for The Journal of Mixed Methods, the International Journal of Nursing Education Scholarship, and the JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports. She serves as committee member and reviewer for many regional and national organizations including Ochsner Clinic Foundation, the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Louisiana State Nurses Association, and the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.

Dr. Garbee serves as a major professor or committee member on Doctor of Nursing Practice Scholarly Inquiry Projects and Doctor of Nursing Science dissertations. She teaches all levels of nursing students, undergraduate and graduate in the areas of Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist practice, Healthcare Outcomes and Informatics, and research.

Dr. Garbee has 21 years of experience in the operating room and post anesthesia care unit. Research interests and publications include simulation-based educational strategies, communication and teamwork, interprofessional education, and nursing faculty retention. She has received honors and awards such as the Sister Henrietta Guyot Professorship in Nursing, the Nightingale Award for Nursing Educator of the Year from the Louisiana State Nurse Association and Louisiana Nursing Foundation, and the 2014 Alumnus of the Year from LSUHSC School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Dr. Stephanie Pierce, PhD, MN, RN, CNE

Dr. Stephanie S. Pierce is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing and Program Director of the accelerated (CARE) BSN, RN to BSN, RN to MSN and the Nurse Educator MSN Programs at Louisiana State University Health Science Center (LSUHSC) School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her undergraduate BSN from William Carey College, her Master of Nursing specializing in nursing administration from LSUHSC and her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Capella University specializing in Educational Leadership in Higher Education. She is certified as a Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing. Dr. Pierce began teaching at LSUHSC School of Nursing in January of 2000.

Dr. Pierce is Project Director and Primary Investigator overseeing a HRSA grant that funds four nurse managed clinics providing primary care services in New Orleans. She is responsible for the overall integrity of the project, implementation of project goals and activities. She coordinates the health education services provided through grant supported initiatives, which have included major health fairs and immunization clinics. The clinics are run in partnership with the LSU Healthcare Network. Clinic sites focus primary care services delivered by Nurse Practitioners and target underserved populations. Dr. Pierce is the Coordinator for the Cornerstone of Cultural Competency in the Disaster Cycle (C3DC) Program which includes face to face and online courses targeted to increase knowledge of cultural competency in health care leaders, providers and nursing students using best practices to improve responses in the four phases of the disaster cycle. She participated in designing the curriculum and developing the model for the C3DC Program which was also HRSA funded. Dr. Pierce is also the Program Coordinator for the LSUHSC Immunization Program, the nursing lead for Blood Borne Pathogens Program, the medical lead for the Point of Dispensing (POD) Program.

Dr. Pierce is a certified systematic reviewer and trainer and is a founding member of the Louisiana Center for Evidence Based Nursing at LSUHSC-NO: An Affiliate Centre of the Joanna Briggs Institute.

Presently Dr. Pierce serves the Louisiana State Nurses Association as Director of Nursing Leadership and Professional Development and the American Nurses Association on the Ethics Task Force Advisory Committee.

Constance Bonnet, MN, APRN, FNP-BC

Constance is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. She enjoys caring for all patients with special interest in chronic illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Constance earned her Registered Nurse Diploma from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, La. She went on to complete her Masters of Nursing Degree from Louisiana State University Health and Science Center in New Orleans, La. Currently, Constance is a Doctoral Candidate at Loyola University New Orleans in New Orleans, La.

Constance has 25 years of nursing experience from Intensive Care, Developmental Disabilities to Psychiatric Care.

Constance has a strong conviction that encourages her patients to be active participants in their own healthcare through education and a strong patient-provider relationship that can lead to patients reaching their health goals. She feels that the provider’s role is to always provide support for their patient with focuses on disease prevention through health promotion.

Dr. Timothy J. Delcambre, DDS, MHA

Dr. Delcambre graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 1984, then did a 2-year residency in Hospital Dentistry at Charity Hospital of New Orleans in 1986. He received a Master of Health Administration degree from Tulane University in 1994. He received a Membership in Special Needs Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ebinburgh, Scotland in 2004.

Dr. Delcambre has been honored with many awards with his work at LSU School of Dentistry and in organized dentistry. He is a member of the O.K.U. Honorary Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Honorary Dental Society and the C.E. Kells Honorary Society. He is a past president of the LA Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Delcambre is a Master of The Academy of General Dentistry, a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. He is a fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He has memberships in the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the three components of the Special Care Dentistry Organization.

Dr. Latanja Divens, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Dr. Latanja L. Divens is an Instructor of Nursing in both the undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Divens earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Xavier University of Louisiana (1996) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of Holy Cross College (2001). She has also received both a Master in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (2007) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (2012) from Loyola University New Orleans. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Divens’ has acute care nursing experience in surgical intensive care. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Divens has extensive experience in the areas of family practice, nephrology and gastroenterology. Her passion lies in caring for patients with chronic diseases and serving underserved populations. Her capstone project for completion of the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, entitled “Living Healthily with Chronic Hepatitis C Virus: Strategies to Improve Health,” was focused on chronic Hepatitis C in vulnerable populations and methods to reduce disparities in within that population.

Dr. Divens is a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Doctors of Nursing Practice Associations. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. Her research interests include mentorship and chronic diseases.

Dr. Leslie Nolden, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Dr. Leslie F. Nolden is an Instructor and Course Coordinator of the Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner (PCFNP) program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC). In addition, she serves as the Tucker H. Couvillon, III Professor of Nursing Research in Parkinson’s Disease. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has over 33 years of clinical and administrative nursing experience.

Dr. Nolden’ s varied background and employment experience in Mental Health, Emergency Medicine and Primary Care have provided her with the perfect foundation for teaching. Her teaching experience includes a graduate faculty position at Louisiana State University in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.

Dr. Nolden is a member of several local and national professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International and Phi Theta Kappa.

Dr. Nolden is also employed in faculty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner at LSU School of Dentistry. Her research interests include Parkinson’s disease, Depression, Schizophrenia and other health issues and disparities within her community.

Dr. Demetrius Porche, DNS, PhD, FACHE, FAANP, FAAN

Dr. Demetrius James Porche is Professor and Dean of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. He also holds an appointment in the School of Public Health at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Nicholls State University and his Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Science from Louisiana State University Medical Center. He completed Family Nurse Practitioner post-graduate coursework at Concordia University Wisconsin. Dr. Porche earned a Doctorate of Philosophy from Capella University in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership.

Dr. Porche is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Community Health Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner. He practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Village D’Jardin on Thursdays. Dr. Porche has a passion for providing primary care services to underserved populations with a specialty interest in men’s health. Dr. Porche serves on the Editorial Board of The Journal for Nurse Practitioners. He is currently the Chief Editor of American Journal of Men’s Health. He has served as the President of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing for two terms of office.

Dr. Porche is a gubernatorial appointed member of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. He currently serves as President of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Dr. Porche has chaired the Louisiana State Nurses Association Continuing Education Committee. He served at the national level on the Governing Council of the American Public Health Association and served as Chair of the Public Health Nursing Section Development Committee. Dr. Porches served on the Research Committee of the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators, Education Committee of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Doctoral Conference Planning Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and Treasurer of the Southern Nursing Research Society. He is a Virginia Henderson Fellow of Sigma Theta Tau International and a Fellow in Society of Luther Christman Fellows for Contributions to Nursing by Men. He has served as a national mentor in the Sigma Theta Tau International Chiron mentoring program and as a mentor to novice Deans for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. He serves as the national University Representative on the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs. Dr. Porche was inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nursing, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Porche provides local, state, national and international consultation in the areas of governance, leadership, regulation, and program development and evaluation. He has provided expert witness in legal cases. He serves as a men's health consultant to the Men's Health Network in Washington, DC.
