Accessing PCA and EtCO2 Trend Data (continued)

For example, using the the Trend Data feature and the nursing process (APIE1) you are better able to:

  • Assess - While you were away from the bedside, important patient data was captured. You can now return to the bedside and access a trend of high/low patient values along with alarm limits and the patient's RR and EtCO2 response.
  • Plan - Review physician orders, review PCA doses, etc.
  • Intervention - Adjust PCA therapy as needed. Adjust alarm limits as needed, if nuisance alarms occur.
  • Evaluate - Reevaluate patient response (RR and EtCO2).
