8. Close and lock the security door.

9. Verify parameters on the summary screen and press the Start soft key.

Notes:

• Your facility may require a Second Nurse to verify PCA settings and correct medication label on the syringe.
• Pressing the Pause soft key on the Alaris® PC point-of-care unit allows the security door to be opened without losing the programming parameters.
