Increased Safety Through Risk Reduction

The Guardrails® PCA Pause Protocol feature helps increase safety by decreasing PCA therapy risk factors that are not related to programming errors. These include:

• PCA by proxy
• Respiratory status decline secondary to diagnosed or undiagnosed clinical conditions such as sleep apnea or pneumonia
• Heightened risk of respiratory depression with complex or high dose PCA therapies
