Responding to a Syringe Empty Alarm

When the Syringe Empty alarm sounds:

• SYRINGE EMPTY scrolls in the Channel Message Display.
• The red indicator illuminates.
• An audio prompt sounds. To silence the audio, press the Silence button.

If the syringe is empty, load a new syringe and restore the infusion or press the Channel Off button.

If the syringe is not empty, plunger travel may be impeded. Verify that plunger movement is not impeded. It is sometimes possible for an IMS pre-filled syringe label to peel off and become lodged between the plunger and the barrel. Replace syringe if necessary.
