Guardrails® limits and alerts

If you exceed a Guardrails® limit while programming an infusion, a visual and audio Guardrails® alert will occur, as illustrated on the right. There are two types of Guardrails® limits:

• Guardrails® soft limit can be overridden if you feel it is clinically appropriate to do so.
• Guardrails® hard limit cannot be overridden and requires you to reprogram the infusion parameters.
