Responding to an Air-in-Line Alarm

If you see air in the detector:

1. Press the RESTART key on the Alaris® Pump module to advance the air past the detector.
2. Remove the air from the line according to hospital policy.

If you do not see air in the detector:

1. Silence the alarm and close the roller clamp.
2. Open the Alaris® Pump module door and firmly press tubing toward the back of the detector.
3. Close the door and open the roller clamp.
4. Restart the infusion.
5. If the alarm still occurs repeat this procedure, but in step 2 remove the tubing and clean the detector with a water-moistened Q-tip.
