Removing the Pressure Sensing Disc

When you are using a pressure sensing disc, you should prime the administration set before installing the disc. If you need to prime the set after installing the pressure sensing disc, the disc should be removed before priming and reinserted after priming.

To remove the pressure sensing disc, first ensure that the administration set is not attached to the patient. Then use your finger to apply firm downward pressure on the pressure sensing disc (not tubing) until the disc snaps loose from the slot in the housing.
