Bio

Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Chamberlain University, a Master of Science in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University New Orleans, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She holds dual board certifications as Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) and in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC), as well as a Lean Yellow Belt Certification in process improvement.

Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has held diverse leadership roles, including Administrative Coordinator, Operations Coordinator of Specialty Clinics, Assistant Professor of Nursing, and both Vice President and President of her local Sigma Chapter. Her teaching experience spans both academic and clinical settings, with a focus on adult medical-surgical and critical care nursing, as well as system-level curriculum development and competency readiness.

A dedicated advocate for nursing excellence, Dr. Smith has received numerous honors, including the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana Award, multiple Ochsner Health employee awards, and several academic distinctions. She is also an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, the Louisiana State Nurses Association, the Association for Nursing Professional Development, and Sigma.

Dr. Smith has presented her scholarly work at local conferences, focusing on quality improvement, staff engagement, and evidence-based practice in acute care environments. She is passionate about developing future nurse leaders and driving innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes and professional practice.
