Bio

Dr. Sylve holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Metro State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Educator concentration, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from St. Catherine University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a Certified Nurse Educator dedicated to advancing excellence in nursing education.

Dr. Sylve teaches across multiple programs within the School of Nursing. She serves as course coordinator for the Foundations in Nursing Practice Practicum in the undergraduate program and is also a faculty instructor in Health Assessment courses. In addition, she contributes to the RN-to-BSN program, supporting the academic and professional advancement of registered nurses.

Her commitment to teaching excellence has been recognized through the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty in both 2023 and 2024. She was also nominated for the Allen Copping Excellence in Teaching Award in 2024 and the Louisiana Great 100 Nurses Foundation. Dr. Sylve’s scholarly interests include simulation and nursing informatics, with a focus on enhancing clinical judgment and integrating technology into nursing education. Her clinical background spans cardiovascular critical care, ambulatory care, and a variety of nursing leadership and management roles, providing her with a well-rounded perspective that informs her teaching and mentorship.
