David Kalil, DNAP, CRNA
Instructor of Clinical Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia - Adjunct



 Dr. David Kalil is an Instructor of Nurse Anesthesia at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. He received an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Louisiana State University Health Science Center, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, a Master in Nurse Anesthesia from Xavier/Charity Nurse Anesthesia school, and his Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Texas Wesleyan University.

  Dr. Kalil is certified by the National Board for the Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists. He is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support.

  Dr. Kalil serves as Course Coordinator for Nurse Anesthesia practicums IV, V, and VI.  He also teaches in Nurse Anesthesia practicum VII, Basic Principles of Anesthesia, Health Assessment, Evidence Based Nursing Practice, Pathophysiology for Nurse Anesthesia, and Scholarly Inquiry Project I, II, and III.

 He serves as a faculty advisor to students. Dr. Kalil serves as a faculty member and committee member on multiple Scholarly Inquiry Projects. He is active in nursing professional organizations. He is an executive board member on the Louisiana Association of Nurse Anesthetists and member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. He serves on multiple committees in the LSUHSC School of Nursing.  Dr. Kalil participates in clinical practice and serves as a preceptor for the anesthesia students at the LCMC University Medical Center.

  Dr. Kalil has regional and obstetrical anesthesia experience. Dr Kalil has received many honors and awards including: the DAISY Faculty Award and the Allen A. Copping Excellence in Teaching Award from the LSUHSC School of Nursing.
