Bio

Dr. Jennifer M. Manning, DNS, ACNS-BC, CNE, FCNS, FAAN, is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Nursing. She has brought over 30 years of diverse nursing experience as a faculty member, administrator, regulator, and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) leader.

Her clinical career began in critical care in 2000, building on her earlier research in hypertension at LSUHSC. She earned her MSN and Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Board Certification in 2007, and her Doctor of Nursing Science (DNS) in 2014, with a dissertation focused on nursing leadership.

Since joining LSUHSC in 2007, Dr. Manning has held multiple leadership roles, including RN-to-BSN Program Coordinator and Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Program Coordinator. She remains active in teaching and mentoring students and faculty. Additionally, Dr. Manning serves as a Clinical Nurse Researcher at LCMC Health East Jefferson General Hospital.

A prominent figure in nursing organizations, she has served as President of the National Association for Clinical Nurse Specialists and as Vice President of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist Fellow and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Manning has published extensively and presents her work nationally and internationally.
