Lucretia James, MSN, FNP-BC
Instructor of Clinical Nursing - Adjunct



Lucretia James is a Clinical Instructor of Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Nursing working with the ANEW Grant. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, and a Master of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Loyola University New Orleans. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Mrs. James is a member of the United States Army Reserves and currently serves as the Commander of 7232nd Medical Support Unit and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). LTC Lucretia James has served 24 years in the US Army Reserves. In 2016-2017 she served on the Medical Task Force for Army Readiness where she held the position as lead nurse practitioner and considered the expert in Medical Readiness.

Mrs. James has been honored as one of the Great 100 Nurses in Louisiana, October 2016. She has received many other honors and awards including: The Armed Forces Global War on Terrorism medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two overseas medals, five Army Commendation medals and four Army Achievement medals.

Mrs. James is a practicing clinician in the Emergency Departments of Tulane University and Touro Infirmary.
