Bio

Ms. Hogan is a Simulation Operations Specialist in the Nursing Skills and Technology Center (NSTC) at LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans School of Nursing (LSUHSC-NO SON). She also holds the rank of Instructor in the LSUHSC-NO SON. Ms. Hogan earned a teaching certification and worked seven years in secondary science education prior to transitioning into post-secondary health sciences education at LSUHSC-NO, where she developed, improved, evaluated, and refined various interprofessional education curricula. She has worked in the NSTC for the past year in her current role. She co-teaches the Beginning Spanish for Nursing elective, which uses simulation-based learning to improve student fluency and confidence when working with Limited-Language Proficiency patients. Her research interests include simulation, student engagement, and skills-based education, interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in secondary/post-secondary education. She is a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, where she is a peer reviewer for the STORM Magazine and an active member of the SOTS Nominations Workgroup. In her community, she serves on the JCFA School Board and is an active member of the Junior League of New Orleans.
