Bio
Dr. Raymond Devlin is an Instructor of Nurse Anesthesia at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, attended the U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing, and received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.
Dr. Devlin is certified by the National Board for the Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists. He is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support.
Dr. Devlin serves as a course faculty member specializing in regional anesthesia in the doctoral program at LSUHSC School of Nursing. He is also the Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. His research interests include trauma and combat anesthesia.
Dr. Devlin has extensive experience in trauma anesthesia and has served as a Nurse Anesthetist and as a U.S. Army Captain in Iraq in 2004 and 2006. He also has regional and obstetrical anesthesia experience. Dr. Devlin has received many honors and awards including: the Ira Gunn Award for Clinical Excellence from Tripler Army Medical Center, The Outstanding Clinical Preceptor Award from LSUHSC Nurse Anesthesia Program, two DAISY Faculty Awards from LSUHSC School of Nursing, the Registered Nurse Recognition Award from the Northshore District Nurses Association, and the LSUHSC Outstanding Doctor of Nursing Practice Student Award.
