Mission

In addition to the mission of the School of Nursing and the LSU Health Sciences Center, the mission of the Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner program is to:

• Prepare graduates for autonomous evidence-based family nurse practitioner practice with culturally diverse populations across the lifespan in a variety of primary care settings.
• Maintain a quality program that meets national accreditation and state regularity standards.
• Prepare graduates to attain certification as family nurse practitioners.
• Promote advanced leadership through mentoring and professional socialization.
