  • Post - Traumatic Growth

All sexual assault nurses (currently being trained or already practicing) are welcome to attend!

This interactive training will focus on special considerations for health care providers who care for patients with trauma. As health care workers enter the profession with their own Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), their vicarious work-related trauma can fall on the trauma load from their own life. The theory, research, and application of evidence-based practices will be offered enabling participants to explore their own trauma exposure in childhood as it pertains to their present coping as they witness the suffering of others through their work experiences. Researchers have discovered not only what makes people resilient but what characteristics and conditions enable people to come through healing and end up wiser, stronger, more fulfilled, and with a deeper meaning to their lives prior to trauma.
