Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Nursing (SON) has been approved to offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree by the LSU Board of Supervisors and the Louisiana State Board of Regents in December 2011.  The Post masters Nurse Anesthesia concentration was approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) on June 15, 2012.  LSUHSC SON will enroll students in this program beginning in fall 2012. An on-site accreditation visit is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2013 for initial accreditation of the DNP program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
