of Nursing is pleased to announce the inaugural
call for applications and nominations for the
Tenet HealthSystem/Jo Ellen Smith, BSN Endowed
Chair of Nursing. This first, fully funded endowed
chair in the School of Nursing will be an exceptional
scholar, researcher and educator who will promote
interdisciplinary alliances and foster collaboration
among faculty for research, patient care, and
education. The Endowed Chair will bring recognition
and visibility to the LSUHSC School of nursing
in a focal area of research that is supportive
of the School of Nursing and to LSUHSC’s research
agendas. The incumbent will advance nursing knowledge
in research and scholarship in order to improve
the quality of life and health of Louisiana’s
residents.
