Graduation candidates must arrive no later than 8:45am the morning of graduation.
Students will be notified as soon as possible of any changes.
Admission and seating for Commencement is on a first come first serve basis. Handicap seating is available. Admission is free. No tickets are required.
November 28, 2019 - Any student that received any form of financial aid is required to complete the Financial Aid Exit Interview. Service Blocks: Payment of all financial indebtedness the LSU System prior to commencement is a degree requirement.
November 8, 2019 – Ordering of BSN Nursing Pins
November 28, 2019 – Completion of the end of course evaluations and surveys.
Special Request for Diploma Presentation
Students must submit an official, written request to the Dean of the School of Nursing, Dr. Demetrius Porche, to have someone other than the Dean present diplomas. Considerations are given for a family member employed as a LSUHSC full-time faculty or an elected official. The request must include: student name, name of presenter, relationship, and LSUHSC affiliation. All written request for the December 2019 Commencement must be submitted to Dr. Porche by November 1, 2019.
BSN students must submit a written request to be pinned by a family member. The family member must be a Registered Nurse and a graduate from the LSUHNO School of Nursing. The Pinning Request form December be hand delivered to the Assistant Dean for Students Services, Dr. Kendra M. Barrier, office #4C1, or the Office of Student Services/Affairs, office #3C3. Students must purchase the LSUHSC School of Nursing pin from the LSUHSC Bookstore.

Diploma Frames and Gift Items
Diploma frames are available for purchase in the LSHUSC Bookstore.
All December 2019 graduation candidates must complete and submit the Student Graduation Form by November 1, 2019. The form is located on the left side of this page.
The LSUHSC Registrar is responsible for all official name changes. Please submit any name change request to the Registrar’s office by October 7, 2019.
All students must complete the Transcript Request, located on the left side of this page. Students are requesting: an Official Transcript for Initial Licensure upon Graduation. Official transcripts are required for initial licensure examinations and for certification examinations. The completed Transcript Request must be turned in during orientation, August 12, 2019.
Information as published in the General Section of the 2019-2020 LSUHSC-NO Academic Catalog/Bulletin beginning in 2006, a single commencement ceremony, honoring candidates for degrees of the respective professional schools of the LSU Health Sciences Center, will be held each academic year. Payment of all financial indebtedness the LSU System prior to commencement, as well as attendance at commencement, unless excused, in writing by the student’s Dean, is a degree requirement.*

Students completing academic requirements during a semester in which commencement ceremony is not held will have their degrees conferred at the end of the academic term. Conferral dates will generally be the second Saturday in August and the second Thursday in December.*
