Bio
Dr. Kryshonda Alleyne is an Instructor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina, with an associate’s degree in nursing. Dr. Alleyne also holds a master’s degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), obtained in 2014, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), obtained in 2021, both from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. She is a Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator.
Dr. Alleyne has clinical experience in surgical ICU, PACU, and intermediate ICU as a registered nurse. Her nurse practitioner experience includes retail and family health, where she serves as a preceptor, clinical resource person, and lead provider. Her research interests include Social Determinants of Health, Human Immunodeficiency Virus Medication Adherence, and the Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections in socioeconomically and medically underserved areas.
Dr. Alleyne holds a Family Nurse Practitioner certification with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP) and the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, Epsilon Nu Chapter. Additionally, she serves as a board trustee for Crescent Care.
