Bio

An accomplished and collaborative leader in Nurse Practitioner (NP) education, health policy, and nursing practice, Dr. Fowler is an Professor of Clinical Nursing who serves as Program Director of Nurse Practitioner Programs at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans, School of Nursing. She steers NP education nationally as  President (2026-2028) of the National Organization of NP Faculties (NONPF) and regionally as Principal Investigator of NP workforce development grant-funded projects with awards totaling 3.6 million dollars. Additionally, Dr. Fowler influences NP education nationally through several publications, book chapters, and commercial products supporting NP student academic success thereby impacting thousands of NP faculty and students across the United States. Dr. Fowler is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) and American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) for her impact upon NP education and the NP workforce. Dr. Fowler is dedicated to strategically engaging in work advancing the health equity of vulnerable and acutely ill persons of underrepresented groups, especially older adults.
