Topic Objectives

The addition of the Alaris® Auto-ID module to the Alaris® PC point-of-care unit combines the advantages of the Guardrails® Suite MX with bar code technology. This provides a new level of IV medication safety, while reducing the number of steps required to input infusion parameters.

• Associate the Alaris® System with a patient using the New Patient prompt or through the Options menu.
• Disable tamper resist in Authorized User Mode.
