Attaching a Disposable to a Patient

The procedure for attaching a disposable to a patient depends on whether or not the patient is intubated.

For a non-intubated patient, apply the disposable as you would an oxygen nasal cannula.

For an intubated patient, attach the disposable between the ventilator tubing and endotracheal tube as follows:

  1. Firmly connect small end (male) of the Microstream® disposable to female end of Y piece (ventilation source).
  2. Firmly connect patient's endotracheal tube connector into large end (female) of the disposable airway adapter.
