Syringe Controls

The parts that hold the syringe and control the flow of fluid are illustrated in this diagram.

The Security Lock is key operated and has three positions:

1. Unlock unlocks the security door to load or change a syringe.
2. Program allows for changes in device programming, without unlocking the security door or interrupting the current infusion.
3. Lock locks the security door. The key must be in this position to start an infusion.

The Dose Request Cord, required for delivery of PCA doses, has a latching connector that is inserted as shown.
