Programming the Bolus Dose
After pressing the BOLUS soft key, proceed with these
steps to complete the bolus
dose:
- Enter a bolus DOSE using the numeric keys. Based
on your hospital's guidelines an initial starting dose may be pre-populated.
To change the starting dose, press the DOSE active
soft key and enter the desired amount using the numeric keys.
- Enter or change PATIENT WEIGHT (if applicable) using
the numeric keys.
- Enter the bolus DURATION using the numeric
keys. An initial starting duration may be pre-populated. To change
the starting duration, press the DURATION active soft
key and enter the desired amount using the numeric keys, or press the Rapid
Bolus soft key (which allows
you to deliver the bolus dose at the fastest, safest rate for the drug
as determined by the hospital, 420 mL/h in the example on the right,
and automatically enters the applicable duration).
- Verify the parameters and press the START soft
key.
Prior to pressing the START soft key you will see INFUSE
AT and [Conc] alternate
on the screen with TOTAL
DOSE and BOLUS VTBI. |
