3. Disconnect Syringe

Upon removal of a syringe from the SmartSite® positive bolus needle-free valve, a positive displacement of fluid will occur to reduce retrograde flow into the catheter lumen.

4. Clamp

Apply clamp after disconnecting syringe.

Note: The SmartSite® positive bolus needle-free valve automatically reseals itself to maintain a closed system.
