Infusing at Flow Rates < 1.0 mL/h (continued)

When infusing critical medications, if the patient is too unstable to experience even a short period of time without infusion, load new syringe set into second pump and start infusion before new syringe is needed. Allow sufficient time to observe flow from new syringe tubing and change infusion lines at patient end when appropriate.
