Master of Science in Nursing

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree curriculum plan is designed for full or part-time study. Core courses are required of students regardless of selected concentration. The structure and content of the curriculum are based on the rationale that theory provides the conceptual basis for nursing practice. Courses are arranged so that theory and practice are presented concurrently. There are two areas of nursing focus: Clinical Nurse Leader and Nurse Educator. Each area builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree curricula and emphasizes the utilization of theoretical formulations as a basis for nursing practice. Graduates are prepared to educate or lead professional nurses.
