Official transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university documenting the award of a BSN or BSN Equivalent*. All previous undergraduate and graduate transcripts must be submitted. All nursing course credit earned must be from a specialized nursing accredited academic program. *A BSN equivalent does not meet admission requirement without the conferral of a Master's degree.

All transcripts from programs outside of the United States must be evaluated by an accredited credentialing evaluation service. LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing recommends the following resources:

A grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate and graduate course work reflected on transcript(s).

Official scores for the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) of 300 (or higher) when combining the verbal and quantitative scores on the 130-170 score scale are required from within the last five (5) years. Writing score must be a 3.0 or higher from within the last five (5) years. Input GRE scores within the NursingCAS application.

Three References in Support of Graduate Admission Application must be submitted by the application deadline. At least one recommendation must be from a peer and another from a current supervisor. The reference information will be requested within the NursingCAS application. A minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 79-80 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for all applicants who have English as a second language or who are not graduates of programs in the United States. Input TOEFL scores within NursingCAS application. A current unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in any state with eligibility for licensure in LA is required. All current licensures must be uploaded within NursingCAS application.

A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience. Certification through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support. All certifications must be current. All certifications must be uploaded within NursingCAS application.
