I completed all of my pre-nursing classes at LSU in Baton Rouge, and I chose LSU School of Nursing because of the diversity and opportunities it has to further pursue my career and education. My name is Sarah Sauvage, and I am currently in my Senior year of nursing school here at LSU. Through my time here I have been involved in SGA, SNA, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Member, and now Student Ambassadors! I am so excited to meet everyone and can’t wait to help guide others as they proceed through their nursing journey. I chose LSU Nursing because it feels like a home when you are here, with the best students and friends you could ever imagine. Being a part of a family while going through this challenging program is something everyone should experience, and that is why I am so passionate about this school. Not only do you get the support you need, but you also learn so much from great faculty and great local resources and hospitals. My biggest advice for anyone in the program would be to get involved. Once you put yourself out there, the possibilities are endless, and I truly believe that doing extracurriculars makes all of the long hours of studying worth it in the long run. Don’t forget to stay true to yourself and be positive! And as always, GEAUX TIGERS!

I chose LSU nursing because I wanted to attend a program where I knew I would be supported and pushed to grow. I have enjoyed all of my clinical rotations so far, but I would love to work in critical care in the future. My best advice for prospective students is to start studying early- the amount of material can creep up on you if you procrastinate!

Hi! My name is Cedriona, and I’m currently a Junior 1. A few interesting things about me are that I love to travel, I’m the oldest of six, and I’m also in the military. My time at LSUHSC so far has been bittersweet, yet nothing short of amazing. I’ve met some incredible friends, cried, laughed, and made so many unforgettable memories. When I made the decision to uproot my life and move to New Orleans for nursing school, I was afraid and hesitant. I worried that I wouldn’t fit in and that I might miss out on a true college experience. However, I chose LSUHSC because of the amazing faculty and the support I received throughout the application process, and if I had to choose again, I would pick LSUHSC a thousand times over. This school has not only brought me joy, but it has also helped build long-lasting friendships and relationships that I will cherish forever. My advice to future students is to not be afraid to start over and to remain open-minded to new journeys, because you never know where they may lead.

Hiii, I'm Mykhael! I chose LSU because I truly fell in love with the campus during my tour, especially the simulation lab. My biggest piece of advice is you only fail when you give up, so never give up on anything you want in life!
