The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Nursing (SON), St. Charles Endowed Professorship Grant Program is pleased to announce that funds will be available to support pilot research projects consistent with the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) mission for junior and established investigators. The NIH mission is to “seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability (https://www.nih.gov/about-nih/nih-wide-strategic-plan).” Areas of particular interest for funding should be aligned with LSUHSC SON research priority areas/themes (https://nursing.lsuhsc.edu/onrss/researchpriorityareas.aspx) that will guide future areas of potential NINR funding. Additional priority will be given to applications that detail a structured research mentoring experience within the grant proposal. Investigators who are seeking to develop or market a patentable product or develop intellectual property are also encouraged to apply.
