Accreditation

The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Nursing programs are approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Nurse Anesthesia Program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (222 South Prospect Avenue, Park Ridge, Illinois 60068-4001, phone: 847-692-7050) a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. At its accreditation review in May, 2003, the program was awarded the maximum ten year accreditation period, an achievement attained by less than 10% of anesthesia programs nation wide.
