Responding to a Guardrails® PCA Pause Protocol Event

When the pause limits have been exceeded, the following will occur:

• PCA infusion will automatically pause.
• A prompt similar to the one to the right will appear on the Main Display notifying you the device has paused.
• PCA PAUSED – LOCKOUT will scroll on the Alaris® PCA module.
• The Alaris® SpO2 or EtCO2 module will continue to alarm, if the patient’s monitoring parameters are still out of the alarm limits.
