Future Students

Certification and Licensure Information by Degree and Concentration

  • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the NCLEX-RN examination. Once a graduate successfully completes the NCLEX-RN examination, they are eligible for registered nurse licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.
  • Graduates of this program are already licensed as registered nurses and are not eligible for additional licensure.

    • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification examination through the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC) an autonomous arm of the Association of American Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Graduates are not eligible for additional licensure beyond a registered nurse.

     


    • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic requirements to complete the Certified Nurse Educator certification examination administered by the National League for Nursing's Academic Nurse Educator Certification Program. Graduates are not eligible for additional licensure beyond a registered nurse.

    • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification Examination sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

     


    • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic requirements to complete the Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification examination administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), provided they have held an administrative position at the nurse executive level or a faculty position teaching graduate students executive-level nursing administration full-time for at least 24 months, or equivalent, in the last 5 years. Graduates are not eligible for additional licensure beyond a registered nurse.

     


    • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the National Certification Exam by the National Board for Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

     


    • Graduates of this preaccredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Certification Exam. Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.

      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Examination sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the ACNPC-AG Examination sponsored by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Examination sponsored by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board (AANPBC) or the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Examination sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam sponsored by National Certification Corporation (NCC). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care Examination sponsored by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care Examination sponsored by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Family Nurse Practitioner Examination sponsored by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPBC) or the Family Nurse Practitioner Examination sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.

       


      • Graduates of this accredited program meet the academic and clinical requirements to complete the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan Certification) sponsored by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). Once certified, graduates are eligible for advanced practice licensure in all fifty states including the District of Columbia.
  • Graduates of the PhD in Nursing Program are already licensed as registered nurses and are not eligible for additional licensure.
  • There is not currently an advanced nursing certification examination in public health nursing. Graduates are not eligible for additional licensure beyond a registered nurse.
