LSUHSC Institution Scholarships
LSU Health Foundation is excited to open the spring 2026 scholarship application!
The Foundation fundraises from our generous donors to provide numerous scholarships each academic year for our students. Foundation scholarships are in addition to scholarships offered by the various schools of LSU Health, have specified criteria, and will be reviewed by a selection committee.
The application will be open Friday, February 13 through Friday February 27, 2026, 10:00 p.m. CST

LSU – LCMC Health Scholars Program
Through a generous gift from LCMC Health, a select group of LSU nursing students will receive tuition, designated fees, mentorship, and academic support throughout their nursing studies. Upon successful completion of their nursing education, LSU-LCMC Health Scholars also receive job placement at an LCMC health facility.

Eligibility:
- Be a US citizen
- Be an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior entering the Fall 2025 semester
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Pursuing a degree (open to all majors)
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university for the Fall 2025 semester
- Submit a 300-400 word essay answering the following question: “Putting Your Best Foot Forward: Success is built step by step, and every experience shapes the path ahead. Describe how your education, extracurricular activities, work experience, volunteer efforts, and personal initiatives are helping you take confident strides toward your future career and aspirations.”
The Scholarship application deadline is Friday, July 4, 2025. The winner will be announced after Friday, July 25, 2025, and the scholarship will be applied to the Fall 2025 semester.

Amount: $3,000
Live it Up offers a $3,000 recurring scholarship open to all nursing students, designed to alleviate their financial burdens and empower them to serve as health advocates in healthcare institutions and local communities. The June 1, 2026 with winners announced on July 1, 2026.

- Pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in nursing
- Open to all high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students

We understand that pursuing a degree in the healthcare field, while rewarding, can be financially challenging. The Women in Healthcare Scholarship is designed to support and empower female students pursuing degrees in healthcare, because we understand that their contributions are invaluable in shaping the future of healthcare.

- Women pursuing a degree in the healthcare field (public health, medicine, healthcare administration, nursing, etc.)
- All high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students can apply
- Applicant must be a current U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident

Offered since 2009, the Molly C. and Larene B. Woodard Nursing Scholarships support undergraduate Louisiana nursing students pursuing initial licensure as Registered Nurses. These scholarships are administered by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation and made possible through the generosity of the legacy and estate of Mr. E. Scott Woodard, which has provided nearly 90 nursing scholarships to date.
Award Amount
- $2,500for the Fall 2026 academic term
- Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility and financial need, as funds are available
- Payments are made directly to the recipient’s school account
- Funds must be used for required academic expenses
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate nursing student
- Attend a state-approved Louisiana school of nursing preparing students for initial RN licensure
- Have completed the first clinical direct patient care nursing course
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Application Deadline: June 26, 2026
- Notification of Awards:All applicants will be notified in August 2026 regarding acceptance or non-acceptance

Established in 2012, the Joe Ann Clark Graduate Nursing Education Award honors Dr. Joe Ann Clark for her distinguished career and commitment to professional nursing in Louisiana. This award supports Louisiana registered nurses pursuing graduate education to become nurse educators in an academic environment.
Award Amount
- Two awards of up to $1,500 each
- Each recipient may receive this award one time only
- Funds are awarded annually as available and may be used for academic expenses
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a Louisiana-registered nurseadmitted to an accredited Master’s, post-Master’s, or Doctoral nursing program preparing graduates to serve as nurse educators in an academic environment (full-time or part-time; on-site or online)
- Be a Louisiana resident who has completed at least 6 graduate nursing credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrate advocacy involvement at the bedside, within their practice area or region, or at the state or national level
- Application Deadline: June 26, 2026
- Notification of Awards:All applicants will be notified in August 2026 regarding acceptance or non-acceptance

Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) annual graduate nursing scholarship application process opens October 1, 2025 for the 2026-2027 academic year. NEF, a nonprofit organization, has been providing scholarships to nurses in graduate programs since 1912.
NEF supports scholarships for leadership and health equity and encourages graduate level nursing students to apply.

The Banyan Scholarship for Clinical Education and Healthcare Professions offers $1,000 worth of grant funding to support working students in healthcare fields. This scholarship is open to students pursuing careers in healthcare; including medical, mental health, addiction treatment, clinical, and social care professions.
The next round of applications for the Banyan Next Generation Healers Scholarship is now open, with a deadline of June 4, 2026.
