Established in 2009, LCMC Health, a not-for-profit hospital system, serves the healthcare needs of the Gulf Coast region.

The LSU-LCMC Health Scholars Program will help address the current nursing shortage, provide financial support to nursing students, and lead to outstanding healthcare for the patients of Louisiana.
TUITION-ASSISTED LEARNING
Becoming a nurse requires dedication, passion, and the determination to succeed. The LSU—LCMC Health Scholars Program (LLH Scholars) allows future nurses to focus on learning the skills and knowledge required to become an excellent practitioner without worrying about tuition and fees.
WHO ARE the LSU-LCMC HEALTH SCHOLARS?
A select group of LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing students who receive tuition, designated fees, and academic support throughout their nursing studies. Upon successful completion of their nursing education, LSU-LCMC Health Scholars also receive job placement at an LCMC Health facility.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
LSU-LCMC Health Scholars enrolled in the traditional BSN program are eligibleto receive financial support for tuition and designated fees starting the secondsemester of their nursing education.
LSU-LCMC Health Scholars enrolled in the Career Alternative RN Educationdegree program (CARE) Program are eligible to receive financial support fortuition and fees starting immediately upon enrollment in the CARE Program.
Scholars must remain academically eligible and agree to the post-graduationrequirements to remain Scholars.
Tuition and fees for the 2023-2024 academic school year are as follows for full-time enrollment. (See LSU School of Nursing website for more details.) Themaximum amount a student may receive is the lower of $10,000 per semester or$20,000 annually.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree must have successfully completed at least one full-credit semester in the BSN program with a minimum 2.0 LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing GPA.
Applicants in the Career Alternative RN Education degree program (CARE) are eligible to apply at any time in their nursing program as they have a minimum 2.0 LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing GPA.
Employees of LCMC who are enrolled in either the traditional or CARE program are eligible to apply.
REQUIREMENTS
Scholars must commit to work full-time, post-graduation, in an LCMC Health facility for a term of at least six (6) months for each semester enrolled in the LSU-LCMC Health Scholars Program.
Scholars must maintain a minimum 2.0 LSUHNO School of Nursing GPA and be enrolled full-time in the LSU School of Nursing.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications will open mid-semester each term for the upcoming term for aperiod of not less than three weeks. Students will receive notification via emailwhen applications are open. LCMC HEALTH MATCHING PROCESS
Approximately four to six months before a Scholar graduates, LCMC Healthhosts Match Days to introduce the Scholars to the LCMC Health facility wherethey will begin their nursing career.
The facility is determined largely based on LCMC Health’s needs, including costof agency or contract labor. (Scholars are invited to submit preferences, butthere is no guarantee that preferences can be granted.)
Scholar must remain employed full-time at the matched LCMC Health facilityfor six (6) consecutive months for each semester the Scholars Program awardwas applied to the student’s account.
