Nurse Educator
The program prepares nurses to develop advanced expertise in nursing education and clinical leadership. Graduates of the Master of Science in Nursing program are equipped to function effectively in interprofessional roles, coordinating and delivering patient centered and population focused care across the healthcare continuum and in diverse practice settings.
Grounded in the LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing’s core values, the curriculum emphasizes theoretical foundations, clinical reasoning, and problems solving abilities essential for master’s prepared nurses to influence healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. Core coursework includes advanced health assessment, advanced pathophysiology, and advanced pharmacology, forming a comprehensive base for advanced nursing practice.
