Post-Masters DNP

Admission Criteria

 

  1. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree with a Nursing Education Concentration
    Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree with a concentration in Nursing Education from an accredited college or university.

    If an applicant has attended a previous nursing program without degree conferral, a letter of academic good standing must be provided from that school of nursing.

  2. Grade point average
    Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate and graduate course work reflected on transcripts.

  3. Three references
    References in support of graduate admission application must be submitted by the application deadline. The reference information will be requested within the NursingCAS application. An application may be submitted before the references are submitted to NursingCAS.

    References should include at least one from a peer and another from a current supervisor.

  4. Scholarly paper
    One example of a published or unpublished scholarly paper written must be uploaded within NursingCAS.

  5. Verification of Graduate Practicum Hours Form
    A completed Verification of Graduate Practicum Hours Form should be uploaded within NursingCAS.

  6. Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    A current resume or CV should be uploaded within NursingCAS.

  7. Registered Nurse (RN) License
    A current unencumbered license to practice nursing in any state with eligibility for licensure in Louisiana. The license must be uploaded within NursingCAS.

  8. (BLS) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Card
    American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Card must be uploaded within NursingCAS.

  9. Interview
    Successful completion of the interview process. Only qualified applicants will be invited to interview. Instructions will be forthcoming to all eligible applicants.
